![]() ![]() The Retrospective bags look very nice, but I want to avoid hook and loop type closures. The Tenba DNA bags have external mesh pockets that would be useful, but those bags look too modern to me. I would like to be able to carry a water bottle and umbrella on the outside of the bag. I also bring a Godox flash and trigger with me. My main equipment is an X-T3 with the three F2 primes or the 16-55mm. I guess it would also be helpful to say what kind of Fujifilm camera and lenses you'd like to pack, there is quite a bit of difference if it'd be a X-H1, X-T4 or X-E3, same with lenses, are those small f2 primes or beefier zooms or portrait primes?Įdit: Just throwing an alternative in here, maybe you haven't heard of, the Thinktank Retrospective series is often mentioned as a (more affordable) alternative to the Wotancraft trooper, as it also has a somewhat vintage inspired style and is easily available in the US, also comes in different sizes. That's the major reason why I decided for the medium sized one. ![]() Such a bottle essentially is as large as a decent telephoto lens, hence quite a bit of room inside the small version, which I also thought about getting, would've been occupied already. I went for the medium sized bag, because I always try to take a bottle of water with me, which a shoulder bag has to carry. Maybe B&H or Adorama will sell Wotancraft someday. I am in the US, and I have not found any places that carry Wotancraft products. I think it is too large for my purpose, but I do hope to see on in person sometime. The medium size seems to be very popular. I don't know where you are located, but here in Europe there are some very few shops which actually sell those bags, I got mine from a camera store in Italy. It has become kind of my casual everyday bag. In addition, you can use the leather straps and the bolts to further secure the flap. The flap to open the bag is well designed, there are two magnets which are pretty strong to keep the flap closed, you can open it easily, however not as easy so it would be too loose and open by itself. However one should have a look at the outer front pocket as well as the rear compartment if you keep being exposed in rain for a longer period of time. Water resistence is pretty good, I've been through quite some rain showers and the bag itself did a good job in keeping the insides dry. ![]() I can carry a small water bottle, my X100V, a Pen-F with a medium sized lens attached without any problems and with some more effort when it comes to packing and dividing the inner compartment, one should be easily able to pack more. For the Medium bag, I like the size, it is pretty deep, so even some longer lenses shouldn't be a problem. The inner compartment is fairly deep, it comes with a large padded divider, allowing to create some room for a tablet or small laptop. The inner one is much more restrictive, I usually keep some cleaning cloths in there. There are two front pockets, with the outer one being more flexible due to stretch material, that's where I store my batteries. The side pockets are ok, although you can't really put anything bulky in there. The bag itself is very nice, great quality in terms of materials and build quality. However I do shoot with Micro Four Thirds and am using this bag for that system too. I own one, however it is the Medium size and my only Fujifilm camera is the X100V. ![]()
